What sets the SD3650 apart from the SD3600 is its ability to output dual HD video using DisplayPort and HDMI ports, in addition to an increase in the USB 3.0 accessory expansion ports to four. This increase is ideal for a flash drive, as it allows for data transfer at 5Gbps.

The dock also features zero footprint mounting, enabling it to be mounted to the back of a VESA-compatible monitor using a docking station mount (Sold Separately), making it perfect for desks with limited space. The universal USB Type "A" Dock is compatible with laptops that have a USB-A port, as well as Surface Pro 9/8/7/6/5/4, Surface Laptop 5/4/3/2/1, Surface Books, and MacBooks with a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

The included USB-A cable connects your laptop to the docking station, providing all the necessary connectivity. The dock also includes 4 SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Ports that support high-speed data transfer up to 5Gbps and phone charging. It also features 2 USB 2.0 Ports for peripherals, a gigabit Ethernet port, and external headphone and microphone jacks with audio 2.0 for enhanced sound quality.

Dual Display resolution via DisplayLink of up to 2048x1152@60Hz, including 1080P video via HDMI and DP++, is supported, as well as single display resolution of up to 2560x1600 @60Hz (including QHD 2560x1440) via HDMI or DisplayPort. A third monitor can be added using a USB-A to DisplayPort DisplayLink adapter.

The power supply necessary to power the dock and all the ports is included, although it does not supply power to a laptop. The docking station is VESA mountable with the appropriate mounting bracket and also features a Kensington lock slot to secure your investment.
